Does it Matter if My Vehicle is Too Old or “Outdated” to Qualify for Lemon Law?

Most law firms accept cases in which the vehicle was purchased or leased new, no matter what year it was. What is absolutely essential is that the vehicle had multiple repairs done under the manufacturer’s warranty. Your case may be worth looking into if you have warrantable repairs performed on your vehicle, even if it was a few years ago.

It does not count if your vehicle was purchased new and you only went in for out-of-pocket repairs afterthe vehicle’s warranty ran out. California Lemon Law does not apply to vehicle issues that arise from natural “wear and tear.” The law recognizes that a vehicle’s average lifespan is 120,000 miles. Your likelihood of filing a successful claim under the California Lemon Law, somewhat depends on how close your odometer is to that number. You’re in good shape if your vehicle is experiencing issues at a low mileage or within the warranty period.
